Meet Bret
I have been singing and performing on stage since the age of four. I started off as an Elvis impersonator, going so far as to perform on “Showtime at the Apollo” at the age of 12. As my musical tastes expanded, I developed a love for the blues, classic rock, and eventually opera. I decided to take my singing and musicianship to the next level by studying music performance and completing my BM at Old Dominion University. I spent two seasons performing with the VA Opera chorus where I also performed the role of Happy in Puccini’s La fanciulla del West along with some cover roles. I then went on to complete a master’s degree in vocal performance at Florida State University where I studied under the tutelage David Okerland. Some of my most prominent operatic roles include Marcello in Puccini’s La bohéme, George in Carlisle Floyd’s Of Mice and Men, and Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen. I now offer a repertoire that spans from Verdi and Puccini to Elvis and Sinatra.
